Stepfix

Anti-slip

Anti-slip

According to EN 115, the ribs of escalator steps and moving walk pallets must comply with requirements for minimal dimensions. This is in the interests of safety for users of escalators and moving walks.

Various practical factors, such as stones trapped between comb plates, can cause damage to the step flutes, so that they no longer meet the dimensional requirements. Damage will be detected during the periodic inspection of the escalator or moving walk, and this must be rectified before the installation can be approved under EN115.

Expensive solutions:

Until now, step repair have either made use of welding techniques if possible, or an entire step must be replaced. Both these solutions are expensive, and / or labour-intensive, harmful to the environment and require an undesirable shut-down of the installation.
